Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Augusta, GA, seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead design and modification projects for nuclear power plant systems. You will develop or review electrical and mechanical design packages and support plant operations with engineering analyses and procurement documents.

Travel to client sites and offices is required, with opportunities to lead project teams and interface with clients on scope, status, and design reviews.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 10 or more years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.
  • PE license is beneficial, but not required.
  • Must be able to travel periodically to either client sites or S&L offices, including during key project or Plant outage periods.

  • Prepare or review functional mechanical drawings for nuclear power plant systems.
  • Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
  • Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
  • Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
  • Study options and evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear power plants.
  • Lead engineering project teams.
  • Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and field verification of designs.

Job description

You will be involved in nuclear power plant systems design, including preparation or review of:



  • Modification packages for operating nuclear power plants

  • Functional mechanical drawings and/or drawings for nuclear power plant systems

  • Engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems

  • Technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment

  • Vendor bid evaluations for plant equipment

  • Studies and options evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear power plants


In Addition, You Will Have The Opportunity To


  • Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client-requested work scopes

  • Visit client office and/or plant site locations to interface with the client and make presentations related to engineering tasks and status

  • Lead engineering project teams

  • Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs, as assigned

Compensation Range

$145,310.00 - $222,001.00
