Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, MA is seeking Engineering Co-Op students to support research and development across hardware and software, and to assist in sustaining and improving quality processes throughout the engineering life cycle.

You'll work with tools like LabVIEW, MATLAB, SolidWorks, Python and GitLab, collaborate with engineers, design, test, and document results, and contribute to diverse disciplines from electronics to optical systems.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited electrical engineering curriculum full-time.
• Co-op period is 6 months, full-time.
• GPA above 3.5 preferred.
• US citizenship required.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, Python or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance engineering solutions for challenging problems.
• Generate and present test reports with plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions from data collected and analyzed.
• Complete assignments to develop practical knowledge of processes, equipment, facilities, and systems; collaborate across engineering disciplines.

Students will contribute to projects in various engineering disciplines such as computer hardware or software design and development, electro-optical design, optical and thermal model development, materials testing, electrical system design, hardware assembly, testing, etc. Students will test and evaluate products, systems, or components and work with various applications such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, SolidWorks, COMSOL, ANSYS, Mentor Graphics, Python, and GitLab. Collaborate with engineers or technicians to build and test systems, hardware or components on various projects.
