Job summary

Draper Labs in Cambridge, MA is seeking Engineering Co-Op students to support R&D across hardware and software systems. You will work with tools like LabVIEW, MATLAB, SolidWorks, COMSOL, ANSYS, Python and GitLab to test, analyze, and document results across engineering disciplines.

Domestic students enrolled in accredited electrical engineering programs are eligible. The role runs January through June, with GPA preference and flexible scheduling based on school commitments.

Qualifications

Job Description Summary:

Engineering Co-Op Students support the research and development of new or existing systems, hardware and software. components and materials or may assist in sustaining and improving the quality processes across the full engineering and manufacturing life cycle. Students will contribute to projects in various engineering disciplines such as computer hardware or software design and development, electro-optical design, optical and thermal model development, materials testing, electrical system design, hardware assembly, testing, etc. Students will test and evaluate products, systems, or components and work with various applications such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, SolidWorks, COMSOL, ANSYS, Mentor Graphics, Python, and GitLab. Collaborate with engineers or technicians to build and test systems, hardware or components on various projects. They may also be involved in ensuring quality products are produced and quality procedures are upheld.

Additional Job Description:

Candidates will be matched to a group based on their relevant experience and interests. Below is a list of broad qualifications sought across the division. Candidates are not expected to have every skill listed but should have experience with two or more of the following:

• Scripting and modeling in MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, etc.
• Simulation tools such as SPICE, CST, COMSOL, and ANSYS HFSS/SIWave
• Digital/FPGA design tools, such as Xilinx Vivado and Microsemi Libero
• Board & chip design tool sets, such as Cadence, Siemens Xpedition, and KiCAD
• Signal integrity, layout, and grounding design principles
• Digital signal processing, classical controls, and/or modern controls
• Hands-on experience in digital and/or analog electronics design, prototyping, test, and debug using instruments such as oscilloscopes

The US base salary range for this full-time position is

$20.00 - $45.00
