Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Electrical Engineering co-op in Sacramento, CA to gain hands-on experience in modifying, modernizing, and upgrading rail vehicles. The role offers exposure to a thriving transportation industry and a collaborative team environment.

You will work in small teams on electrical modifications, review schematics for root-cause analysis, create schematics for subsystems and bench test equipment, and support in bid activities for maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• Current sophomore or junior undergraduates pursuing a BA/BS in Electrical Engineering with strong technical or analytical aptitude.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Prior internship or co-op experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and critical-thinking skills.
• Industry knowledge and/or interest in rail or transportation sectors.

Responsibilities

• Document electrical modifications related to the overhaul of rail vehicles.
• Review vehicle schematics to assist in root cause analysis of issues.
• Create schematics for train subsystems and bench test equipment.
• Assist in rail vehicle modification electrical designs.
• Support in the technical bid of maintenance and overhaul projects.
