Job summary

Tampa Electric offers a co-op opportunity for students to gain real-world experience in electrical distribution design and project coordination. You will engage with customers, plan construction phases, and coordinate across TEC departments while contributing to safety and reliability initiatives.

Part-time (20–30 hours) roles are available in a collaborative, inclusive environment, with opportunities to learn and grow within TECO Energy’s family of companies.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as undergraduate or graduate student in related discipline for first semester.
• Co-op program enrollment required; if not eligible, candidate will be considered an intern.
• Year in school: junior or senior.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to assess needs and feasibility for construction projects.
• Manage schedules and completion dates for construction phases.
• Coordinate and manage communication among TEC Planning & Scheduling, Field Construction, Operations, Customers and other departments.
• Produce construction prints and ensure compliance with GIS and WMS data.
• Provide cost estimates and assist in project coordination from planning through completion.
• Support reliability and project management initiatives for the service area.
