Job summary

HR Green, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Water/Wastewater team in Aurora, IL.

The role focuses on electrical design for municipal facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and standby generation, working with a multidisciplinary team on a range of projects. The ideal candidate has 7–10 years of experience, a PE license (or the ability to obtain), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in at least one state, or ability to obtain within six months.
• Typically 7-10 years of relevant electrical design and engineering experience.
• Strong technical communication and writing skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PDF review tools like Bluebeam.
• Working knowledge of CADD and engineering design software; AutoCAD and Revit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently completes assigned engineering design tasks using sound engineering judgment.
• Supports Project Manager by coordinating activities and tracking progress.
• Performs electrical design for water and wastewater facilities including power distribution, lighting, grounding.
• Develops engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
• Coordinates electrical design with other disciplines to ensure constructible designs.
• Reviews work for accuracy and assists with QA/QC reviews.
• Communicates with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders on design details.
• Assists with construction-phase services and responses to questions.
