Role description:

Arcadis is looking for an Electrical Engineer with an interest in designing electrical systems and managing tasks and junior staff to join our Resilience Water Team in North Carolina or Florida. You will provide technical and design consulting services, focusing on electrical power distribution, lighting, communications, security, fire detection, and monitoring and control system designs for projects in Water and Environmental Business Lines. You will also oversee tasks and junior staff, reporting to a Senior Engineer and mentored by a Principal Engineer.

Role accountabilities:

• Support projects and clients in planning, designing, and constructing water/wastewater and industrial facilities.
• Travel may be required for site visits, client meetings, audits, and oversight.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and support project management activities.
• Design and coordinate electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, communications, security, fire alarms, and control systems.
• Use CAD programs (AutoCAD, Revit) for design work.
• Establish design criteria, perform calculations, develop diagrams, and specifications.
• Provide construction phase services, including reviewing submittals and shop drawings, and conducting field inspections.
• Perform system analysis using tools like ETAP or SKM Power Tools.
• Ensure high-quality standards and effective stakeholder communication.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• PE License.

Key Skills and Attributes

• Experience with AutoCAD MEP, Revit, SKM Power Tools, short circuit calculations, and photometric studies.
• Knowledge of NEC requirements.
• Mentoring skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience.
• Consulting experience in water/wastewater and industrial facilities.
