Job summary

ms consultants, inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support water and wastewater projects across the region, focusing on electrical system design for critical infrastructure.

You will plan, design, and coordinate with multiple disciplines, using AutoCAD and Revit, while embracing a hybrid work arrangement to balance field and office work. A PE license is preferred or obtainable within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Power distribution (low/medium voltage) and standby power experience.
• Familiarity with ICC, NEC, NFPA codes and LEED standards.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit design software.
• ABET-accredited EE degree or equivalent work experience.
• PE license preferred or obtainable within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan production for industrial water/wastewater facilities using AutoCAD and Revit
• Coordinate design with other in-house disciplines (architecture, structures, environmental, site civil, landscape)
• Define equipment layouts and protection requirements for distribution stations per applicable codes
• Interpret customer requirements and develop distribution station plans/specifications
• Collaborate on system layout, SCADA controls, automation, instrumentation
• Prepare electrical calculations for power distribution, lighting, controls, and fire alarm systems

As part of our Water team and working under our Process and Controls Technical Service Manager, you’ll be a key player in planning and designing electrical systems for critical infrastructure projects. You’ll work alongside engineers, drafters, and technical managers to bring innovative water and wastewater solutions to life. This is a hybrid role with flexibility and support for work-life balance.

What You’ll Do:

• Plan production for industrial (water/wastewater) and environmental facilities utilizing AutoCAD and Revit software
• Coordination of design elements with other in-house disciplines, including architecture, structures, environmental, site civil, and landscape design
• Define equipment, layout, and protection requirements for new and retrofit distribution stations in accordance with all applicable industry codes and standards
• Must be able to interpret customer requirements and develop appropriate distribution station plans and specifications
• Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams on system layout, SCADA controls, automation, and instrumentation
• Preparing electrical calculations for power distribution (low/medium voltage), lighting, controls, and fire alarm systems

What You’ll Bring:

• Working knowledge of, power distribution (low and medium voltage), standby power systems, instrumentation, controls, lighting, and fire alarm systems
• Prior experience in Water and Wastewater treatment preferred, but not required
• Familiarity with ICC, NEC, NFPA building codes, LEED building standards
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit design software
• Proficient with MS office suite: Word, Excel, Outlook
• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited preferred) or equivalent work experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or the ability to obtain it within 12 months of hire
