Job summary

KCI Engineering Consultants in Downers Grove, IL seeks an electrical engineer with nuclear experience to perform design analysis and calculations, license evaluations, and respond to regulatory concerns on power plant projects.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET) with 3+ years of experience, strong communication and analytical skills, and on-site work. PE licensure in IL or elsewhere encouraged; knowledge of ASME/API standards is a plus.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
• 3+ years of professional engineering experience in a related field.
• Experience with nuclear power plant components and systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design analysis and calculations using ETAP, ANSYS and similar tools.
• Licensing support and engineering evaluations for projects.
• Respond to regulatory concerns as part of project deliverables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design analysis & calculations including ETAP, ANSYS and others
• Licensing & engineering evaluations
• Respond to regulatory concerns.

Preferred knowledge and experience

• Nuclear power plant components and systems
• Design, development and delivery of design modification packages, and projects for nuclear power plants

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Experience - at least 3 years’ professional industry experience (position based upon experience)

Optimal Qualifications

• Advanced technical degree or related coursework
• Professional Engineer Registration (within IL, PA, and others is ideal)
• Solid understanding of codes and standards applicable to industrial design including but not limited to: ASME, API, and others
