Job summary

Shine BrightX LLC in Iowa City is seeking an Electrical Engineering internship candidate currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree. You will assist with electrical design and drafting for diverse projects, size services and equipment, and perform load calculations and equipment sizing.

You will coordinate utility requirements, design power and lighting systems, and work on low-voltage and technology systems. You will gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle with guidance from

• Strong technical aptitude with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software is a plus.

• Size electrical services, transformers, switchboards, and distribution systems.
• Perform load calculations and equipment sizing.

• Develop lighting designs including photometrics and lighting control systems.
• Design low-voltage and technology systems such as access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and wired/wireless networks.
• Support preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Perform data analysis and calculations under supervision.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to deliver solutions.
• Participate in team meetings and client communications as needed.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Conduct construction administration and site visits.
