Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Hardware Engineering team in Grand Prairie, TX. You will lead hardware design efforts for thermal battery power systems, provide technical oversight of suppliers, and drive investigations and changes across development, production, and sustainment.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with electrical hardware design, with demonstrated experience in thermal batteries or energetic/power systems.
• Experience in electrical hardware design for development and/or production phases in aerospace or a similar industry.
• Experience with battery/power system requirements definition, activation circuitry, and power distribution, including reading complex schematics.
• Strong hands-on skills with oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition, and automated test equipment for power system characterization.
• Proven background providing production line support, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead IPT efforts, present to program leadership and government customers, and manage multiple priorities concurrently.
• Must be a US Citizen; must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serving as the Electrical Engineering SME for thermal battery power systems across development, production, and sustainment phases.
• Developing thermal battery requirements and interfaces (activation, voltage/current profiles, service life).
• Providing technical leadership and oversight of thermal battery suppliers, translating prime contract requirements into clear guidance for the supply base.
• Leading root-cause investigations of thermal battery and power system failures, managing engineering changes through Configuration Control Boards.
• Applying deep expertise in thermal battery electrochemistry, activation/initiation circuits, and power conditioning, including qualification and acceptance testing.
• Representing the team on Failure Review Boards (FRB), Material Review Boards (MRB), and Configuration Control Boards (CCB).
• Partnering with Program Managers to balance cost, schedule, and performance across concurrent task orders.
• Mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, fostering engineering excellence and a collaborative team culture.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Electrical Engineer, you will serve as a key technical contributor on one or more defense programs, leading hardware design, troubleshooting, supplier oversight, and production support activities. Your responsibilities may include:

Desired Skills

• Experience with MFC circuit card design processes and the Design Assurance process
• Experience with thermal battery suppliers, electrochemistry, and ordnance/energetic device integration
• Experience with missile systems or hypersonic weapon systems
• Experience with environmental and lot-acceptance qualification testing (vibration, shock, thermal) and MIL-standard power requirements
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical investigations to determine root cause of hardware failures
• Proposal experience authoring and reviewing basis of estimates
• Exceptional communication skills - clear, concise, and technically accurate, both orally and in writing
• Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00
