A manufacturing company in Tennessee seeks an Electrical Project Engineer / Automation Engineer to design and maintain electrical systems. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 5-8 years in heavy industrial environments, particularly in metals processing. Qualifications

Job Description

Metals mill needs an Electrical Project Engineer / Automation Engineer to design, install, and maintain the electrical, electronic, and control systems of the plant. Work with plant personnel in developing process solutions, and in maintaining overall plant capability. Will coordinate and support capital expense (CAPEX) projects.

This job is in Tennessee.

Responsibilities
  • Will work on automation or robotics projects. Must have the ability to write control logic for PLC’s and CNC control.
  • Responsible for scheduling and overseeing reliability and electrical maintenance.
  • Plan repairs and improvements in the plant electrical distribution system.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain high voltage equipment and generator control systems.
  • Perform layered safety audits, hazard assessments, and safety observations.
  • Improve reliability and performance of production equipment, working with a skilled maintenance team.
  • Work closely with operating management and personnel, and with outside contractors and vendors.
  • Develop scope of work plans and budgets. Select materials, services and equipment for use in the projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5-8 years of heavy industrial engineering project experience, especially in the steel industry or other metals processing.
  • Must be familiar with PLC’s, variable speed drives and robotics.

Must be very knowledgeable about industrial high voltage distribution, and reliability/maintenance of industrial manufacturing systems.
