Xona, the navigational intelligence company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our satellite development team in Burlingame, CA. You will lead electrical hardware design, lab testing, and debugging across high- and low-voltage subsystems, collaborating with firmware, propulsion, and avionics disciplines to ensure flight-ready reliability.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years taking mixed-signal designs from schematics to manufacturing and lab bring-up.
• Familiarity with electrical design and simulation tools (Altium, KiCad, SPICE).
• Fundamental understanding of mixed-signal electronics, power tree design, power conversion, signal integrity, and hardware reliability in harsh space environments.
• Hands-on experience designing embedded microcontroller hardware and peripheral interfaces (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, RS-422).
• Experience designing driver circuits for inductive loads and closed-loop DC/DC converters. HV experience a plus.
• Strong background in precision sensor acquisition and analog signal conditioning.
• Lab testing, debugging with oscilloscopes, dynamic loads, power meters, and Python scripting.

Responsabilités

• Hardware design and development for propulsion electronics and power conversion.
• Lead schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout from breadboard prototypes to flight hardware.
• Design, tune, and validate DC/DC converters and driver stages.
• Implement precision analog front-ends for telemetry (current sensing, pressure, temperature).
• Collaborate with firmware for hardware/firmware interfaces and protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, RS-422).
• Conduct hardware design reviews and support component sourcing with derating guidelines.
• Develop and execute electrical test plans from bench to flight hardware; write Python test scripts.
• Troubleshoot hardware in the lab using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power meters.
• Create ICDs and test procedures; support integration and environmental testing (TVAC, vibration, EMI/EMC).
