Job Description

AV provides a full suite of space‑qualified hardware trusted to fly in the most extreme environments across GEO, MEO, LEO and Cislunar orbits. Our customers depend on AV when a mission can’t fail. We are seeking electrical engineers at all levels to join a dynamic team working to put Great Systems on Orbit, enabling leading‑edge tasks in laser communications, space electronics and sensors.

Responsibilities
  • Design custom high‑speed digital electronics using ADCs, DACs, FPGAs, processors and communications drivers.
  • Design and conduct analysis of analog circuits, including low‑noise signal conditioning and power amplifiers.
  • Provide expertise to product development and R&D efforts.
  • Collaborate with peers, leads and managers to develop, review and refine designs and analyses to meet program technical needs within defined time and budget constraints.
  • Work within a broad‑disciplined program team providing expertise in support of electronics manufacturing and test.
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 0–2 years of professional experience.
  • Experience in design, analysis, integration, and test of custom electronics.
  • Proficiency with electrical design software and simulation tools (Altium, SPICE, MATLAB, Simulink, HyperLynx and MS Office).
  • Ability to conduct circuit analysis and simulation to optimize performance and reliability.
Desired Qualifications
  • Understanding of space qualification standards and requirements.
  • Experience designing custom electronics for space products.
  • Experience designing to a defined requirement.
  • Experience with analysis necessary for high‑reliability space electronics hardware (electrical stress analysis, worst‑case circuit analysis, reliability analysis).
  • Experience producing PCB layouts and understanding of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Understanding of relevant IPC standards needed for electrical design and fabrication.
  • Experience developing and conducting testing of complex electronic sub‑assemblies along with design of special test equipment.
  • Experience deriving sub‑assembly requirements from system requirements and defining test methodologies.
  • Experience developing design & verification documentation (ICD, DDD, Test Plan, Test Procedures, Test Reports).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to present designs to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to complete assigned work within defined timeline and budget.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
Physical Demands

Work in an office and manufacturing environment (constant). Sit and stand for long periods; use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (frequent).

Salary Range

US$70,000 ‑ 120,000 per year, depending on level, responsibility, location and experience.

ITAR Requirement

This position requires access to information subject to ITAR and/or EAR. Applicants will provide documentation to verify U.S. person status. 120.15. Some positions will require current U.S. citizenship due to contract requirements.
