Job summary

D451 VIRGINIA Waterfront Engineering is seeking electrical engineers to join our Power Distribution team. The selected candidates will develop solutions to problems in power distribution and propulsion plant control equipment, with knowledge of circuit breakers, switchboards, and electronic/analog control systems.

They will write procedures for shipyard execution and provide deck-plate support in shipyards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering.
• 5+ years of post-graduate engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions to issues in power distribution equipment and propulsion plant control equipment.
• Apply knowledge of circuit breakers, switchboards, and electronic and analog control systems.
• Develop troubleshooting strategies and write procedures for shipyard execution.
• Provide deck-plate support in a shipyard environment.

The selected candidates must develop solutions to operational and test issues regarding power distribution equipment and propulsion plant control equipment. In addition, this position requires technical knowledge of circuit breakers, switchboards, and electronic and analog control systems, as well as the ability to develop troubleshooting strategies and write procedures for shipyard execution. The job also requires deck-plate support in a shipyard environment.

The successful candidate must communicate effectively and work within a high performing, multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a personal desire to learn, grow, and excel within the organization.

The occasional need for off-shift overtime and watchbill support is required with this position.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering.
• 5+ years of post-graduate engineering experience

Preferred

• Education Concentration or prior experience in Power Distribution or Power Electronics
• Experience with military equipment
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems or equipment
• Experience with Navy electrical systems

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work well in a team setting
• Must be willing and able to work in both an office environment and a shipboard/shipyard environment.
