Talon Hiring Solutions is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and execution of electrical systems for complex industrial, infrastructure, utility, and mission-critical projects. The role emphasizes leadership of technical teams, mentoring, and delivering from concept through commissioning.

The ideal candidate brings strong power systems expertise, project leadership, and a commitment to engineering excellence across project phases and disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience supporting industrial, utility, infrastructure, manufacturing, mission-critical, or EPC-related projects.
• Experience serving as a lead electrical engineer on multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong knowledge of power systems engineering, electrical distribution systems, protection and control, grounding and power quality, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering activities throughout all project phases from planning to commissioning.
• Serve as the primary electrical engineering resource for assigned projects.
• Develop electrical design criteria, equipment specifications, and engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate engineering schedules, budgets, resources, and priorities.
• Design and analyze medium- and high-voltage distribution systems.
• Develop and review diagrams, layouts, grounding systems, lighting, and cable routing.
• Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, coordination).
• Coordinate with civil/structural/mechanical/controls/construction teams.
• Review and approve calculations, drawings, reports, and documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and support technical development.

Talon Hiring Solutions is partnering with a leading engineering and infrastructure organization to identify an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and execution of electrical systems for complex industrial, infrastructure, utility, and mission-critical projects.

This role is ideal for a seasoned engineering professional who enjoys leading technical projects, mentoring engineering teams, and driving successful project delivery from concept through construction and commissioning. The successful candidate will bring strong power systems expertise, project leadership capabilities, and a commitment to engineering excellence.

What You’ll Do

• Lead electrical engineering activities throughout all phases of project execution, including planning, design, procurement, construction, startup, and commissioning.

• Serve as the primary electrical engineering resource for assigned projects.

• Develop electrical design criteria, equipment specifications, and engineering deliverables.

• Coordinate engineering schedules, budgets, resources, and technical priorities.

• Design and analyze medium- and high-voltage electrical distribution systems.

• Develop and review:

• One-line and electrical distribution diagrams

• Equipment layouts

• Grounding and bonding systems

• Lighting and power designs

• Cable schedules and routing plans

• Motor control and protection systems

• Perform electrical studies including:

• Load flow analysis

• Short circuit studies

• Arc flash evaluations

• Protective device coordination

• Grounding assessments

• Voltage drop calculations

• Coordinate electrical engineering efforts with civil, structural, mechanical, controls, and construction teams.

• Participate in design reviews, constructability evaluations, and technical risk assessments.

• Review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and technical documentation.

• Develop procurement packages and evaluate vendor proposals and equipment selections.

• Provide technical support during construction, testing, startup, and commissioning activities.

• Support troubleshooting efforts, root cause investigations, and system performance evaluations.

• Mentor junior engineers and support technical development initiatives.

• Contribute to engineering standards, quality programs, and continuous improvement efforts.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.

• Familiarity with SCADA systems, industrial controls, and electrical protection systems is a plus.

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proven ability to mentor engineers and support team development.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
