Job description

**Summary:**

At Meta, we’re building the future of human connection and the technology that enables it. This means continuously inventing and developing technologies for the next generation of experiences. To continue our efforts in the path to AGI, and as we move closer to a future with intelligent robots and advanced AI models, we're hiring talent across a broad range of disciplines from robotics hardware to system software, machine perception, and artificial intelligence. These crucial projects and initiatives taken on by this team have never been done before, so you have a rare opportunity to help us create new ways people connect around the world. Meta is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Robotics team. This role is pivotal in tackling the most challenging electrical design problems we face, designing and developing complex robotics that balance ergonomics, performance, reliability, and usability while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. You will become part of a team responsible for initial concept development, analytical modeling, prototype design, construction, and testing.

**Required Skills:**

Electrical Engineer: Robotics Hardware Engineering Responsibilities:

1. Architect and design electrical engineering solutions for the next generation of robotics, that include fabrication and assembly of Printed Circuit Boards, Flexible Printed Circuits, Cable Assemblies, and Rigid Flexible Printed Circuits.

2. Develop schematics, guide board layout, assemble, test, debug, and integrate multi-component electrical systems using industry-standard simulation and design packages such as SPICE, MATLAB, Altium or Cadence.

3. Establish and conduct collaborations with multidisciplinary partners, both internal and external.

4. Embrace constant learning, diving into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and supporting the ambiguity of robotics problem solving.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

Minimum Qualifications:

5. 5+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, with a proven track record of contributing to the successful inception, ideation, development, and launch of consumer products.

6. BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.

7. Experience in one or more of the following systems in the context of Robotic systems: Lithium Battery Systems, High Power (>100W) DC/DC Power Conversion and Distribution, DC Motor Controllers and Drivers, Embedded systems (MCU/GPU), Electrical System Integration, positional sensing (encoders, etc), cable harness design, functional safety systems, and control theory

8. Electrical system integration including schematic and layout using industry-standard simulation and design packages such as SPICE, MATLAB, Altium or Cadence.

9. Experience with electrical design verification using standard test and measurement equipment (Oscilloscope, LCR, DMM, Electronic Load, etc).

10. Experience working collaboratively with cross functional Engineering, Safety, Manufactury, and external partners

11. Hands-on lab experience to assemble and test the above systems. Soldering, crimping, and basic mechanical assembly.

12. Experience innovating and solving complex design problems.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

Preferred Qualifications:

13. MS degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

14. 8+ years of experience in research or advanced development incubating new tech and guiding them through to product transfer.

15. Experience in full robotics and consumer electronic product design.

16. Design for Compliance certification and EMI/EMC theory

17. Experience programming in other languages like Python/Java/C#/C++/C, creating initial system bring-up, debugging, and test code.

18. Experience with signal and power integrity.

19. Experience with vendor engagement and relationship management, including co-design and customization of existing commercial technologies.

20. Experience defining and coordinating test procedures in a lab and factory environment to facilitate system bring-up and evaluation.

21. Experience with electrical and operational safety controls and procedures.

**Public Compensation:**

$170,000/year to $240,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
