Job summary

Walden Robotics in Cambridge, MA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute across the electrical systems for a humanoid robot, supporting design, build, and test of electronics spanning compute, sensing, power, and motor drive.

The role emphasizes hands-on hardware, debugging, and turning prototypes into production-ready designs while collaborating with mechanical, firmware, and controls teams to grow technical ownership over time.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical engineering experience or MS with relevant internship/project experience.
• Strong fundamentals in circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
• Hands-on experience building and testing hardware with soldering and wiring.
• Ability to reason from first principles in analog and digital electronics.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills; eager to learn from senior engineers.
• Familiarity with electrical CAD tools (e.g., Altium) and firmware basics.

Responsibilities

• Support the design of electronic subsystems—schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection under guidance of senior engineers.
• Build, wire, and bring up prototype boards and hardware; assist with integration across the robot.
• Perform bench testing and validation; capture, analyze data, and document results.
• Debug and troubleshoot hardware issues using lab instrumentation; escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and controls engineers to integrate electronics into the robot platform.
• Contribute to design documentation, test procedures, and continuous improvement.
