Exowatt in Austin, TX is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and develop electrical systems for our P3 energy platform. You will own electrical designs from power conversion to protection, collaborating with mechanical, controls, and software teams to bring the product to life.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of electrical engineering experience with exposure to power systems or power electronics.
• Familiarity with power electronics, circuit design, and control systems.
• Proficiency with electrical design tools (Altium, EAGLE, KiCad).
• Familiarity with SPICE, MATLAB, or similar simulation tools.
• Understanding of NEC, UL, IEC, IEEE standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear technical documentation and communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical components and sub-systems for thermal battery and power dispatch applications.
• Create schematics, PCB layouts, and technical specifications.
• Perform electrical analysis, simulation, and validation testing on designs.
• Contribute to power electronics, control circuits, instrumentation, and protection systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems teams to integrate designs.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues during prototype builds and testing.
• Evaluate components and vendor technologies; select parts.
• Ensure designs meet safety standards and internal targets.
• Document designs, test procedures, and findings clearly.
• Support prototype builds, bring-up, and field testing.
