What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop relay settings and protection philosophies for distribution equipment, including transformers and distribution feeders
- Review protection and control design packages to ensure project accuracy
- Provide remote field support to relay test engineers during the installation of settings
- Model electrical systems using power simulation programs like CAPE, ASPEN, and CYME
- Create thorough technical reports and documentation while continuously improving engineering knowledge and skills
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably electrical or computer engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of experience developing relay settings and protection philosophies for transmission or distribution equipment
- At least 3 years of experience in electrical engineering theories and principles
- Ability to work remotely without supervision
- Strong organizational skills with effective communication abilities
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and/or Access
- Experience with developing settings for Schweitzer relays
- Initiative to embrace continuous learning and become an expert in relevant programs and technology
- Ability to plan and manage assignments effectively
