Job summary

NextDecade is seeking a full‑time Electrical Engineer to support long‑term O&M for the Rio Grande LNG facility near Brownsville, TX. You will serve as SME for electrical engineering focusing on medium/low voltage power, protection, and reliability of critical infrastructure.

You will report to the Sr. Manager of Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical Engineering within the Operations Department. Travel of ~10–15% may be required; no direct reports, but mentoring of technicians is possible.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical engineering or related field with PE license or eligibility.
• 10+ years of power distribution engineering experience.
• 5+ years in power distribution at an operating process facility.
• Willingness to travel domestically & internationally (~10–15%).

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical systems and power distribution support for RGLNG facility.
• Lead protection schemes, load management, and coordination studies.
• Maintain arc flash studies per NFPA 70E and IEEE 1584.
• Support ECMS and Alarm Management programs.
• Oversee area classification and safety compliance.
• Troubleshoot control logic, trips, and equipment malfunctions.
• Track KPIs on performance, reliability, safety, and maintenance.
• Mentor technicians in advanced diagnostics and OT monitoring.
• Collaborate with OT, I&C, and OEM contractors on reliability.
• Participate in PHA, HAZOP, and risk reviews.
