Job summary

Valdes Architecture & Engineering is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 3+ years of experience to design and layout low and medium power distribution systems. The role requires knowledge of substation design, arc flash studies, and instrument/control systems, with proficiency in SKM, InTools, and AutoCAD.

A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required, along with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to resolve technical design problems with little coaching.
• Strong Microsoft Office experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of low & medium power distribution systems.
• Knowledge of substation design, short circuit analysis, ARC flash studies.
• Experience with lighting design, grounding, and lightning protection.
• Design of electrical heat trace, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Application of medium to low voltage transformers and UPS systems.
• Conduit, cable tray, and underground duct bank design.
• Electrical calculations including short circuit, load flow, arc flash, motor starting, harmonic, and voltage drop.
