Randstad USA is seeking an Electrical Engineer Power System Protection in Ann Arbor, MI for a 100% employee-owned global leader building bold, resilient infrastructure.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5–10 years of transmission experience in advanced P&C design and relay settings, with responsibilities including relay settings, system modeling, and compliance with NERC-PRC.

Qualifications

  • Protective relay settings and P&C design concepts including one-lines, schematics, and wiring.
  • System modeling with protection schemes for Transmission, Distribution, and Renewable substations.
  • Ensure compliance with NERC-PRC and maintain QC/QA standards for deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Develop protective relay settings (line, transformer, breaker, bus) and apply P&C design concepts.
  • Utilize ASPEN, CAPE, and other modeling tools to apply protection schemes.
  • Ensure NERC-PRC compliance and high-quality engineering deliverables.
  • Lead small projects, managing schedules, budgets, and staffing.
  • Mentor and develop early-career professionals within the team.

Join Our Client as an Electrical Engineer Power System Protection in Ann Arbor, MI a 100% employee-owned global leader building bold, resilient infrastructure! We need an expert with an engineering degree and 5-10 years of transmission experience for advanced P&C design and relay settings.

Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $68.42 - 73.42 per hour
Work Hours: 9am to 5pm
Education: Bachelors

Responsibilities
  • Develop protective relay settings (line, transformer, breaker, bus) and apply Protection & Control (P&C) design concepts, including one-lines, schematics, and wiring.
  • Utilize system modeling software (ASPEN, CAPE, etc.) and apply predominant protection schemes for Transmission, Distribution, and Renewable Collector Substations.
  • Ensure compliance with NERC-PRC and industry standards while actively functioning in a QC/QA capacity to maintain high-quality engineering deliverables.
  • Lead small projects by managing schedules, budgets, and staffing, and support proposal development with engineering estimates and scopes of work.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and clients, bringing strong leadership to mentor and develop early-career professionals on behalf of Our Client.
