Job summary

TITAN Consulting is hiring for a position that offers the flexibility to work from their Pittsburgh office or remotely, ideally from the Eastern US. The role involves designing electrical systems for data centers, including onsite power generation solutions and compliance with industry standards.

Job description

This is a direct position with our client partner. It could be worked from our client’s Pittsburgh office or be remote. If remote, it is preferred that a candidate be located in the Eastern US. This position may require office/site visits to projects/clients.


This role will provide proposal and application design for critical electrical systems in data centers. Projects will provide on‑site power generation on a small scale, usually from 10 Milliwatts (mW) to 1 gigawatt (GW), for data centers and other industrial facilities.


Responsibilities


  • Take inbound project opportunities and put together a plan to satisfy the client’s needs

  • Make the decisions on the type of equipment that will be utilized for the project. Examples of equipment choices include a turbine generator, a reciprocating generator, and a fuel cell.

  • Engineer medium and low voltage power distribution, UPS and generator backup, and emergency power systems for high-density loads.

  • Create schematic designs, site layouts, bills of materials, and application of equipment

  • Understand OEM’s and specifications of equipment

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations, including National Electric Code (NEC) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards

  • Work closely with mechanical, civil, controls, and IT teams to define project requirements, design criteria, and budgets.

  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in data center technologies, and recommend new technologies to improve the reliability and efficiency of our data center infrastructure


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering plus 5 years of progressive experience in data center or other mission-critical electrical design; active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.

  • Must have experience with designing and delivering onsite power generation solutions to industrial facilities

  • Deep knowledge of power distribution architecture, UPS/generator systems, grounding/bonding, and protective device coordination for 10mW-1 GW facilities. Any additional experience with solar or battery storage is a plus.

  • Preferred experience with success delivering data center power generation projects

  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including NEC and IEC standards
