Job summary

RIM Recruitment Professionals seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to collaborate with architectural, mechanical, and structural teams on a variety of facilities projects. You will contribute to power and lighting system design, electrical distribution, and high-performance building concepts.

The role emphasizes LEED/Net Zero goals, strong documentation, and adherence to codes. Ideal candidates have PE registration, 5+ years’ experience, and ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer registration in at least one state.
  • Ability to seek reciprocity with other State Registration Boards.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing and providing construction administration for facilities as a design consultant.
  • Knowledge of Military, Justice, or water treatment facilities desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of building, electrical, and fire codes and standards to determine engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and selection for different voltage systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Revit desirable.
  • VisualPro and/or AGI32 experience desirable.
  • Past facilitation of LEED Certification or Green Globes desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan project resources, maintain schedules, and stay within budget.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Desire, motivation, and ability to exceed the firm's and clients' expectations.
  • Dedication and willingness to continue professional growth.

Responsibilities

As an electrical design engineer, you will work closely with colleagues in architectural, mechanical, and structural departments on a variety of projects. We offer a wide range of engineering services for our clients' infrastructure and building design projects. Our multidiscipline personnel function as a cohesive design team to create local and regional utility systems, energy-efficient building components, environmentally sensitive site developments, and safe, modern transportation facilities. We provide comprehensive technical resources for all types of infrastructure designs, with project experience ranging from planning studies to large-scale construction projects, and from small buildings to large campuses. Our building designs encompass the latest power and lighting systems for LED, telecommunications, audio/visual, electrical power distribution, and other systems. These high-performance projects frequently pursue Net Zero Energy and LEED certification. Our in-house team gives us the capability to successfully plan, design, and deliver projects both large and small.
