Job summary

Procon-Consulting in Erie, PA is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a long‑term, onsite opportunity supporting VA EHRM infrastructure upgrades at the Erie VA Medical Center, in an active federal healthcare environment.

The role requires a minimum of six years of electrical engineering experience on facility construction projects, knowledge of electrical systems, and ability to coordinate with contractors and government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in facility construction projects.
• At least 3 years in field construction management, inspections, or QA.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specs, RFIs, schedules, and changes.
• Experience with electrical building systems and critical infrastructure.
• Federal/VA/Healthcare construction experience preferred.
• PE license preferred.
• Knowledge of construction codes and safety standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain VA credentials and work onsite in Erie, PA.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite electrical engineering and construction management support for VA EHRM infrastructure upgrades.
• Oversee electrical infrastructure improvements: power, UPS, data centers, telecom, grounding, life safety.
• Perform field inspections for compliance with drawings, specs, safety, codes.
• Review submittals and contractor proposals and provide technical recommendations.
• Monitor progress, quality, and contractor performance, coordinating with stakeholders.
• Support QA, testing, commissioning, and acceptance of electrical systems.
• Identify deficiencies, risks, and corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection and project tracking records.
• Ensure compliance with VA design standards and applicable codes.
