Job summary

Peter Basso Associates, Inc. is an ESOP-backed MEP engineering firm seeking professional engineers to join our team.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will collaborate with architects, contractors and facility owners across education, healthcare, and mixed-use markets, contributing from concept to construction. You should have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 3–5 years’ experience in electrical design, with AutoCAD and Revit proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent from a US-based college or university.
• 3–5 years’ experience in electrical design of commercial building systems.
• FE exam passing is a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Thorough understanding of coordination among design disciplines and their project impact.
• Team-oriented, problem-solving skills, and decision-making ability.
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What You’ll Do

As an Electrical Engineer at Peter Basso Associates, you will join project teams collaborating with top architects, contractors, and facility owners across diverse markets—education, healthcare, research, institutional, multi‑family, and mixed‑use. You will apply creative solutions to complex challenges and contribute to projects from concept through construction.

What We Are Looking For

• Engineer and design electrical building systems, specifically focused in one or all of the following areas:
  • Power Distribution Systems, including medium and low voltage distribution systems, standby power applications, load calculations, short circuit and coordination studies, arc flash hazard.
  • Lighting Systems, including calculations, lighting controls, luminaire selections and architecturally integrated lighting systems.
  • Auxiliary Systems, including fire alarm systems, voice/data structured cabling systems, access control, CCTV and other low voltage systems design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an engineering-related curriculum from an accredited U.S. based college or university.
• 3‑5 years’ experience in the electrical design of commercial building systems.
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Have a thorough understanding of the coordination aspects of all the design disciplines and their impact on the project.
• Team-oriented, problem-solving skills, and decision‑making ability.
• Detail oriented, self‑motivated, enthusiastic and flexible.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
