Job summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a premier client in Oshkosh, WI.

The role centers on designing high‑voltage electrical systems for heavy‑duty vehicles, performing analyses, redesigns, and development of subsystems for existing and new vehicles. The engineer will perform calculations, support senior engineers, and assist in prototype and production builds, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with internship experience or at least six months of related work experience.
• Accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Familiarity with programming languages and controls software.
• Familiarity with CAN/SAE J1939 protocol.
• Automotive High Voltage training/certification(s).
• Power electronics and machines familiarity.
• Energy storage system familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks under close supervision according to client and industry standards.
• Support senior engineers in preparing basic plans, designs, computation methods, and reporting.
• Work on projects of limited complexity in a support role under close supervision.
• Collaborate with other engineering or business disciplines internally and with external suppliers.
• Design electrical parts and components to correct parameters and specifications while incorporating quality, cost, reliability, and ease of manufacturing.
• Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, or production builds, including problem resolution in manufacturing.
• Process engineering information through change notices, proposals, and create thorough print documentation.
• Other duties as assigned, including regular attendance.
