Position: Full-time Staff Electrical Engineer IV

Location: Greenville SC, Charlotte NC, or Remote

Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer IV, you will lead and design large-scale renewable energy projects, including solar energy systems, power generation, substations, and distribution systems. Your responsibilities include electrical design, analysis, estimating, system sizing, specifications, and creating electrical diagrams. You will communicate technical solutions effectively, mentor junior engineers, and may serve as the project Electrical Engineering Lead, ensuring project success within scope, schedule, and budget.

Principal Responsibilities
  1. Provide technical guidance on design deliverables, specifications, and calculations.
  2. Develop and monitor project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  3. Coordinate design efforts with other disciplines and clients.
  4. Ensure design correctness, compliance with codes, and constructability.
  5. Stamp project documents as a PE when responsible.
Required Skills
  • Experience in medium and low voltage electrical distribution design, including lighting, grounding, lightning protection, and power systems, with knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA, NETA standards.
  • Proficiency in solar/grounding design tools (PVsyst, XGSLab), Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SKM, ETAP for power system studies.
  • Strong leadership in large project design, compliance, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Experience in project execution, scope development, and coordination with procurement and construction teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to resolve engineering challenges proactively.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience.
  • PE License preferred.
  • Ability to pass background screening.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $114,880 - $172,320, dependent on experience and location. We offer a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits including health coverage, paid leave, and additional voluntary benefits.

Physical & Mental Requirements

Must be able to perform physical tasks such as balancing, stooping, reaching, manual dexterity, climbing, and reading complex documents. Capable of reasoning, decision-making, and sustained concentration.
