Job summary

CRB invites aspiring Electrical Engineers to join our Dallas team as an Electrical Engineer Intern for Summer 2027. You will work under a mentor, contributing to power, lighting, grounding, and building support systems within real-world projects and industry standards.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in design development, coordination with internal teams, and collaboration with vendors and clients, while developing practical engineering skills in a dynamic, industry-leading firm.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Interest in Food & Beverage or Life Sciences.
  • Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
  • Willingness to collaborate with multiple disciplines and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop power load, illumination, short circuit, voltage drop calculations and related design deliverables.
  • Prepare project documents and construction drawings in coordination with regulatory bodies.
  • Assist with conceptual designs and coordinate with the design team under project leadership.

How will I contribute?

As an Electrical Engineer Intern, youwill work under the direction of an assigned mentor to develop and implement project deliverables. As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you will focus on the design and engineering of power, lighting, grounding/bonding, special systems; e.g., tel/ data, security, fire alarm, raceway, cable tray and other electrical control and building support systems into the built work environment. Project work may include all levels of design such as studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.

Core Responsibilities
  • Typical tasks and deliverables include power load, illumination, short circuit, voltage drop calculations, basis of design reports, code evaluations, single line diagrams, plans, schedules, installation details, specifications, and coordination with manufacturers and construction trade partners. Tasks will include utilizing computer aided drafting and engineering software.
  • Developing project documents (e.g., calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications, etc.) for clients in coordination with regulatory bodies and industry standards.
  • Assisting with development of conceptual designs and coordinating with the design team under direction of the project team lead.
  • Coordinating with multiple disciplines and other internal and external team members (e.g., vendors, clients, and contractors).
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
  • Interest in the Food & Beverage or Life Sciences industry strongly preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights
  • Must be willing to communicate and collaborate with multiple disciplines and other internal and external stakeholders (vendors, clients and contractors)
  • Eagerness to learn about the AEC industry and apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering applications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with power systems strongly preferred
  • Working towards Fundamental of Engineering Exam registration or completion preferred
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit and 3D collaboration tools(Navisworks, BIM360 Suite, Assemble)
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards within the AEC industry
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in Electrical Engineering or related field
