Job summary

KB Signaling is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join the Product Support Team in Grain Valley, MO. You will assist in developing and maintaining safety-critical railroad products, working closely with hardware engineers on real-world projects.

You'll gain hands-on experience with testing, documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards, while learning CAD tools and lab instrumentation in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits, components, and safety procedures.
• Interest in working with safety-critical systems and learning about regulatory standards.
• Familiarity with lab tools and basic CAD or simulation software is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and willingness to learn.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems used in railroad safety-critical applications.
• Support engineers in schematic reviews, PCB layout verification, and documentation aligned with industry safety standards.
• Perform basic electrical measurements and diagnostics using lab equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies).
• Help maintain lab organization.
• Participate in design reviews
• Document test procedures, results, and assist in preparing technical reports.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on product safety, reliability, and maintainability.
