Job summary

CRB is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in Kansas City, MO. The internship offers real-world project work, mentorship, and exposure to power, lighting, grounding, and building systems within the life sciences and food & beverage sectors.

You will contribute to concept through construction phases, learn industry standards, and collaborate across disciplines with experienced professionals to deliver impactful solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote).
• Interest in the Food & Beverage or Life Sciences industry strongly preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights.
• Must be willing to communicate and collaborate with multiple disciplines and other internal and external stakeholders (vendors, clients and contractors).
• Eagerness to learn about the AEC industry and apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering applications.

Responsibilities

• Typical tasks and deliverables include power load, illumination, short circuit, voltage drop calculations, basis of design reports, code evaluations, single line diagrams, plans, schedules, installation details, specifications, and coordination with manufacturers and construction trade partners. Tasks will include utilizing computer aided drafting and engineering software.
• Developing project documents (e.g., calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications, etc.) for clients in coordination with regulatory bodies and industry standards.
• Assisting with development of conceptual designs and coordinating with the design team under direction of the project team lead.
• Coordinating with multiple disciplines and other internal and external team members (e.g., vendors, clients, and contractors).
