Job summary

Dennis Group is seeking a student intern to support the Building Electrical Group in Springfield, MA. The role focuses on designing electrical systems for building power, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage networks for food and beverage facilities.

You will assist with calculations, documentation, and bid support while gaining exposure to NEC, NFPA standards, and vendor coordination. On-site collaboration and travel to project sites are expected.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• GPA 3.0 or above.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
• Travel to customer project sites for fieldwork, review, audit, and meetings, ~25%.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for building power, distribution, and standards.
• Document calculations for short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and load calculations.
• Maintain project document organization and meet commitments.
• Assist in managing electrical bid process and startup support.
• Develop design lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems for facilities.
