Job summary

TOKYO ELECTRON AMERICA in Albany, NY invites energetic students to join our Engineering team for a Summer 2027 internship. You will assist in designing and testing TEL equipment, learn lean principles, and gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art semiconductor tools in a production environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with design and development of monitoring systems, test procedures, and tool configurations, plus cross-functional collaboration and safety training.

Qualifications

• Completed second year of studies towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S without sponsorship.
• Ability to work safely in a production or laboratory environment with hazardous chemicals and large, fast-moving machinery.
• Some knowledge of the semiconductor industry.
• Background in computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet analysis, data graphing).

• Attend cross-functional team meetings to review project status, resource coordination, and weekly assignments.
• Learn aspects of engineering project management.
• Complete required safety training.

Position Summary:

In this position, you will assist our Engineering department in implementing and improving the design of state-of-the-art equipment that is used in the world's most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities. This is a 'hands on' position to assist in design, test, and rework of equipment.

Summer 2027 Internship

Duration: Monday, May 17th- August 20th, 2027

Location: Albany, NY

This internship is payrolled via payroll process provider.

Physical Requirements:

Job duties may be performed in confined areas in a clean room environment, in awkward positions and/or in high places. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds may be required. May require bending/stooping/crawling/climbing. May require the use of Personal Protection equipment and proper industry safety procedures when working with one or more dangerous element or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc. Occasional overnight travel to TEL factory, training facilities and customer locations may be required.

Salary Ranges

$30.35 - $40.60

Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training. In addition to base salary, we offer (full time regular employees ) a comprehensive benefits package and for certain roles eligibility in our bonus plan and long-term incentives as applicable.
