Job summary

General Matter is seeking an early‑career Electrical Engineer to design power, lighting and low‑voltage systems for data centers, manufacturing plants and large‑scale infrastructure. You will work with senior engineers to deliver reliable, high‑energy facilities using BIM tools and CAD software.

Responsibilities include load calculations, panel layouts, and coordinating with mechanical/structural teams. Strong communication and internship experience are valued, with a path toward broader project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; recent graduate or upcoming.
• Coursework in electrical power systems, machines, circuits, and building services.
• Familiarity with BIM modeling software such as Revit and AutoCAD.
• Understanding of medium‑voltage distribution and load analysis.
• Interest in AI tools for design and coding (Python, C#) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical power systems design and coordination in BIM for facilities.
• Perform load calculations, circuit analysis, and panel schedules.
• Assist in medium‑voltage distribution networks, substations, and backups.
• Contribute to lighting design, grounding, and protection coordination.
• Develop BIM models with Revit/AutoCAD across disciplines.
• Prepare documentation, specs, and construction drawings for large projects.
• Participate in workflow automation and data analytics using Dynamo or Python.
