Kymera International - Specialty Materials that Shape the Future in Durham, NC, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support design, maintenance, and optimization of electrical systems. You will ensure safe, reliable operation of production systems and automation equipment, and drive plant uptime and performance improvements.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, 2 years in heavy manufacturing, and PLC knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2 years of experience in heavy manufacturing, industrial, or process environments.
  • Experience with PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley).
  • Familiarity with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and control systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports operation, maintenance, and optimization of plant electrical systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoots electrical and controls issues affecting production and facility systems.
  • Designs, modifies, and improves electrical systems including power distribution and automation equipment.
  • Leads capital projects including equipment upgrades, installations, and commissioning activities.
  • Develops electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Works with PLC, HMI, and SCADA to support automated processes.
