Job summary

Qualifications

0-2 years of engineering experience.
ABET-accredited engineering degree.
Proficiency with design software: MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking.
Internships or prior engineering work preferred.
Valid driver's license; EIT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in design and preparation of construction drawings for a variety of MEP projects.
Perform engineering calculations, interpret drawings and specifications.
Work with multiple engineering disciplines and perform drafting/CADD work.
Conduct site visits to gather data, measurements, sketches, notes, and photos.
Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for review.
Review and approve shop drawings to meet project requirements.
Read and interpret technical documents needed for job performance.
Coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required.
Attend bi-weekly project meetings to discuss progress and tasks.
Ensure ISO compliance and operate within budget parameters.
Complete tasks on time and within budget while meeting scope.
Aim for budgeted individual utilization targets.

Duties, Responsibilities & Other

We are looking for an Electrical EIT to support our MEP design projects in San Antonio. This position will require working independently after some training to develop electrical design drawings for building systems. This will include creating a one-line diagram, creating load analysis, creating panel schedules, researching product data sheets for various pieces of equipment to find the electrical information. Selecting/ specifying electrical equipment like switchboards/ panels/ transformer/ Lighting Controls.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the design and preparation of construction drawings for a variety of MEP projects
Perform engineering calculations, interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Work with multiple engineering disciplines and perform drafting/CADD work.
Conduct site visits to gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes, and photographs, as needed.
Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for review and approval.
Review and approve shop drawings and ensure that they meet project requirements.
Read and interpret technical documents necessary for job performance.
Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required to ensure project success.
Attend bi-weekly (or more frequent, as necessary) meetings with the project team to discuss project progress and tasks.
Ensure that all projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements and operate within specified budget parameters.
Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting project scope.
Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization targets.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Complete other duties as required or assigned.
