Job summary

Tradesmen Electric is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Washington, DC to design and review electrical systems for multifamily, commercial, and industrial projects.

You will prepare single-line diagrams, perform load calculations, and assist with project estimating while coordinating with managers and field teams to ensure successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical design, construction, or engineering (preferred) (Multifamily/commercial/industrial preferred).
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical distribution systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• PE license in Washington (or ability to obtain) preferred but not required.
• This is a safety sensitive position. Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and driving check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical system designs, layouts, and single-line diagrams.
• Perform load calculations, fault current analysis, and circuit sizing in compliance with NEC and local codes.
• Assist with project estimating, submittal preparation, and design-build proposals.
• Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, and other trades to ensure successful project delivery.
• Review shop drawings, product data, and RFIs for technical accuracy.
• Participate in site visits to verify installation accuracy and troubleshoot field issues
