Electrical Engineer III - Facility Design

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Facility Electrical Engineer for our High Performance Facilities (HFP) business unit in our offices located in Greenwood Village, CO; San Antonio, TX; Merritt Island, FL; Huntsville, AL; Albuquerque, NM; Boise, ID; or Chamblee, GA.

This position offers a blend of creativity and high technical skills, requiring a professional engineer responsible for all phases of engineering production and BIM, from programming through construction administration. A hybrid schedule working from both home and office is available for employees in good standing.

The annual salary range for this position is $103,000.00 - $133,000.00, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Design electrical systems for facilities serving Government, Military, University, and private clients.
  • Provide conceptual and detailed design and analysis for facility power distribution (600V), site power distribution (15kV), emergency power, grounding, lightning protection, lighting, telecommunications, fire alarm/mass notification, security, access control, and special systems.
  • Prepare supporting documentation such as calculations, reports, and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical regulatory codes.
  • Meet with clients to validate scope of work and prepare fee proposals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accuracy, schedule, and budget adherence.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers, delegating tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Eight (8) years of experience in facility Electrical Engineering design.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
  • Experience with REVIT/AutoCAD or similar software for drawing generation.
  • Proficiency in electrical calculation tools such as AGi32, Elum Tools, SKM Power Tools, ETAP, and EasyPower.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Excel & Word.
  • Knowledge of technical codes like NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEEE.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • U.S. Citizenship required for client projects.

  • Experience with Department of Defense and government clients.
