Job description

This role involves producing and modifying design calculations, technical reports, and engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects. You will work closely with the project manager to conduct research, develop designs, perform calculations, and deliver project components. Applying engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria, you will contribute to projects of varying size and complexity. Your technical knowledge, experience, and client relationships will support project execution and evaluation. You will develop conceptual and detailed designs using current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software. There may be opportunities to mentor, train, and review the work of junior engineers, providing constructive feedback. As part of our team, your contributions will help ensure successful project delivery for diverse clients.

What You'll Do:
  • Complete assigned work within schedule and hours.
  • Assist in developing project specifications.
  • Develop discipline-specific engineering project elements such as reports, designs, and plans.
  • Coordinate and enhance team productivity.
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Perform quality control reviews of engineering deliverables.
  • Assist in planning schedules, hours, and work distribution within the discipline.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience, or
  • Master’s degree in Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience, or
  • PhD in Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience.
What You'll Bring:
  • Focus on optimizing work processes and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to independently progress designs and tasks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, and/or AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
  • Effective time management, proactive forecasting, and communication skills.
  • Experience in designing low and medium voltage power distribution, roadway, tunnel, and/or building lighting, security systems, fiber optics, communications, electrical motors, and drives.
  • Support during construction phases.
What We Prefer:
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
