Job summary

POWERX is seeking an Electrical Engineer 2 in Raleigh, NC to support substation design, power systems studies, and testing activities. You will contribute to protective coordination, device settings, and equipment specifications while mentoring technicians and coordinating with project managers.

This role offers growth toward professional licensure as a PE and exposure to diverse, mission-critical power projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Successful completion of the Engineering Fundamentals Examination.
• At least 2+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Design technical drawings for substations and MV systems.
• Prepare equipment specifications for transformers, HV/MV breakers, and cables.
• Conduct power systems studies and develop protective device settings.
• Review shop drawings and assist with testing activities.
• Provide task-level direction to technicians and interns.
