Job summary

RTX is seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong COTS computing and networking background to join the Hardware and Infrastructure team for next-generation radar solutions. You will contribute to radar processing, hardware selection, and system integration in a lab environment.

The role requires a BS in EE, 2+ years of related experience, and familiarity with Unix/Linux, along with the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. Onsite in MA, relocation eligible.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience (advanced degree may substitute for 2 years).

The Radar Digital Products Department is seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong COTS computing and networking background to join our Hardware and Infrastructure team implementing the next generation RADAR solutions.

What You Will Do
  • Radar processing and network system design (e.g. X86-based processors)
  • Research and selection of servers, workstations, add-in interface cards, storage devices, networking and other COTS hardware
  • BIOS and operating system configuration definition
  • System prototyping and integration in the lab

This position can be for the Tewksbury, MA location or the Marlborough, MA location.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the following areas (an advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for two additional years of experience)
  • Experience with emerging and legacy hardware and software, including Unix and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with taking a system design concept from the block diagram or requirements level and developing a complete COTS-based hardware design and then verifying the design via integration and test plans and activities
  • Experience working in a lab environment and operating standard test equipment including oscilloscopes, processor bus analyzers, emulators, and data capture tools, etc.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience developing and implementing computing, networking, and information technology infrastructure through a rigorous design and documentation process
  • Experience collaborating in development with hardware engineering disciplines, supply chain, suppliers, field engineering, on-site installation and trades, and Customers to develop and deliver safety critical systems
  • Current or in-progress computing/networking certification(s) (e.g. CCNA, AWS, CISSP)
  • Experience with RADAR system hardware
  • Experience with Firewall design and configuration
  • Experience implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides and network hardening
  • Experience with system level hardware integration and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to support occasional domestic travel and potential international travel
  • Existing security clearance

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
