Job summary

RadiseInternational, part of the Smart Infrastructure Group, seeks an Electrical Engineer II / QA Inspector to review electrical design drawings and specifications for federal compliance. You will support low/medium voltage distribution, coordinate multi-discipline work, and prepare technical reports to support project execution.

Field inspections, QA surveillance, submittal reviews, and commissioning support are key duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in electrical design, construction, or project inspection (USACE or federal experience preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, RMS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC, UFC, NFPA, and USACE engineering procedures.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate electrical design drawings, calculations, and specifications for compliance with USACE, NEC, UFC, NFPA, and other federal standards.
  • Support design development for low and medium voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, and communications systems.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and civil disciplines to ensure integrated system design.
  • Prepare design analyses, technical reports, and recommendations to support project development and execution.
  • Participate in constructability reviews, value engineering, and life-cycle cost evaluations.
  • Conduct field inspections and quality assurance surveillance for electrical systems and related works.
  • Monitor Contractor Quality Control operations to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
  • Receive, review, and process submittals and shop drawings using RMS; ensure proper documentation, review, and reporting.
  • Prepare and submit daily inspection reports documenting progress, labor, materials, and any observed deficiencies.
  • Maintain records of materials, test results, and “as-built” conditions.
  • Conduct joint, pre-final, and final inspections and verify corrective actions are completed.
  • Inspect safety precautions and enforce corrective measures for noncompliance.
  • Participate in commissioning and testing of electrical and control systems.

Job Description:

Designand Technical Oversight

  • Verify performance of testingand collect samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Monitor project progress andestimate work completion percentages.
  • Assist with coordination forutility relocations (electrical and communication systems).

  • Familiarity with design-builddelivery and government submittal processes.
  • Knowledge of LEED orsustainable design standards.
  • Experience overseeing majorcivil works and vertical construction projects such as hurricane gates,Army reserve centers, schools, and housing facilities.
