Job summary

Radise International in Port St. Lucie, FL is seeking an Electrical Engineer II / QAInspector to lead design reviews, field QA, and project oversight across complex infrastructure programs.

You will coordinate with mechanical, structural, and civil teams, prepare technical reports, and support commissioning and testing with travel as required. A Bachelor's in EE and 5–10 years of related Federal project experience are expected; PE is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in electrical design, construction, or project inspection (USACE or federal experience preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with NEC, UFC, NFPA and USACE procedures.
  • Strong documentation, reporting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review electrical design drawings for compliance with USACE, NEC, UFC and NFPA.
  • Support design development for low/medium voltage distribution, lighting, grounding and comms.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, structural and civil disciplines for integrated design.
  • Prepare analyses, technical reports and recommendations for project development.
  • Conduct field inspections and QA surveillance of electrical systems.
  • Monitor Contractor Quality Control operations and review submittals using RMS.
  • Submit daily inspection reports and maintain records of materials and tests.
  • Assist commissioning and testing of electrical and control systems.
  • Review materials/workmanship and assist with utility relocations as needed.

Job Description
Designand Technical Oversight
  • Review and evaluate electrical design drawings, calculations, and specifications for compliance with USACE, NEC, UFC, NFPA, and other federal standards.
  • Support design development for low and medium voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, and communications systems.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and civil disciplines to ensure integrated system design.
  • Prepare design analyses, technical reports, and recommendations to support project development and execution.
  • Participate in constructability reviews, value engineering, and life-cycle cost evaluations.
Constructionand Quality Assurance
  • Conduct field inspections and quality assurance surveillance for electrical systems and related works.
  • Monitor Contractor Quality Control (QC) operations to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
  • Receive, review, and process submittals and shop drawings using RMS; ensure proper documentation, review, and reporting.
  • Prepare and submit daily inspection reports documenting progress, labor, materials, and any observed deficiencies.
  • Maintain records of materials, test results, and "as-built" conditions.
  • Conduct joint, pre-final, and final inspections and verify corrective actions are completed.
  • Inspect safety precautions and enforce corrective measures for noncompliance.
  • Participate in commissioning and testing of electrical and control systems.
Projectand Field Support
  • Review construction materials, workmanship, and adherence to approved submittals.
  • Inspect installations including power distribution systems, lighting, switchboards, motors, controllers, transmitters, automatic controls, air conditioning systems, and pumping stations.
  • Verify performance of testing and collect samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Monitor project progress and estimate work completion percentages.
  • Assist with coordination for utility relocations (electrical and communication systems).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in electrical design, construction, or project inspection (USACE or federal experience preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, RMS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC, UFC, NFPA, and USACE engineering procedures.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules and safety plans.
  • Ability to travel to projectsites within the USACE Caribbean District as needed.
PreferredExperience
  • Prior work on USACE, NAVFAC, or other federal design/construction projects.
  • Experience with backup power systems, renewable energy, and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Familiarity with design-build delivery and government submittal processes.
  • Knowledge of LEED or sustainable design standards.
  • Experience overseeing major civil works and vertical construction projects such as hurricane gates, Army reserve centers, schools, and housing facilities.
