Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc.'s Newport News Shipbuilding division is seeking an electrical engineer to research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems and networks. The role supports facilities projects and engineering teams in plant, project, or crane engineering, requiring knowledge of applicable regulations, codes and standards; capable of basic electrical design with oversight and basic troubleshooting on power/industrial control systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience.
• Master’s Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience.
• Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
• Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
• Support facilities projects and engineering teams in plant, project, or crane engineering; communicate clearly with supervisors and customers.
• Perform basic troubleshooting on power and/or industrial control systems; assist in project execution, planning and implementation.
