Job summary

Adaptec Solutions in Rochester, NY is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to design electrical control systems and panel layouts for standard equipment and moderate-complexity projects. You will independently manage the electrical scope of small projects, size enclosures, protection, drives, and distribution, and deliver complete schematic packages.

The role requires 1–4 years in electrical design, proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, and experience sizing panel components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related engineering discipline.
• 1–4 years in electrical design for automated equipment.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience sizing panel components and producing complete schematic packages.
• Participation in safety and compliance reviews.
• Vendor coordination for quotes and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems and panel layouts of moderate complexity.
• Size enclosures, disconnects, fuses, breakers, starters and VFDs.
• Create schematics, one-line diagrams and backplane layouts.
• Generate and maintain electrical BOM; export for purchasing.
• Apply NFPA 79 and UL 508A to panel design.
• Collaborate with mechanical and controls on integration.
• Work with vendors to obtain quotes and specifications.
• Conduct field tests and installation support.
• Participate in safety and compliance reviews.
• Assist in reviewing drawings and mentor junior engineers.
• Travel between Adaptec sites in Rochester, NY and Painted Post, NY as needed.
