Job summary

RTX is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to contribute to hardware development for Naval Power and Land and Air Defense Systems. You will translate system requirements into hardware specs, coordinate with systems and hardware teams, and produce verification artifacts and cost-down opportunities.

Onsite role in the US with DoD clearance, requiring a Master’s in Engineering and hands-on experience with analog/digital electronics, PCB design, and design-to-cost practices.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or STEM major.
  • Experience with analog/digital electronics, mixed signal, circuit design or PCB design.
  • Prefer experience reading electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Prior engineering internship or project experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office or other presentation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Flow down and allocate electrical and mechanical hardware requirements.
  • Prepare verification plans and artifacts for hardware requirements.
  • Identify gaps between existing hardware and requirements.
  • Apply Design to Cost practices on development programs.

What You Will Do As an Electrical Engineer II

You would apply your skills to contribute to the requirement flow down, verification, environment stress screening and design-to-unit production cost (DTUPC) management for hardware in programs for Naval Power and Land and Air Defense Systems strategic business units. Working as an advocate for Hardware Engineering, you will coordinate between Systems Engineering and the Hardware Team to allocate the requirements, compile verification artifacts working with electrical (e.g. power/digital/RF/…) and mechanical (e.g. structural/thermal/material…) subject matter experts and develop compliance packages for design reviews and product requirements “sell off” with the customer. Similarly, for DTUPC tasking, you will coordinate between the Affordability Engineer and the Hardware team on critical items and technology to adjudicate cost reduction opportunities resulting in cost reduction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Flow down, allocation and derivation of electrical and mechanical hardware requirements that reflect the system level requirements.
  • Verification planning and artifact generation for electrical and mechanical hardware requirements
  • Determine gaps for existing/non-developed hardware against requirements
  • Apply Design to Cost best practices on development programs
  • Training and application of RTX tools including PTC Windchill PDM and IBM DOORS
  • Collaboration with coworkers and multi-discipline teams. Training in Raytheon processes and procedures
Qualifications
  • You Must Have Master’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Analog, Digital Electronics, Mixed Signal, Circuit Design or Analysis, Electrical Components, Digital Signal Processing or PCB design.
  • We Prefer Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Prior engineering project or internship experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office or other presentation tools

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
