Job description

As an Electrical Engineer II, you will take ownership of building-systems electrical design across multiple concurrent projects, serving as a licensed engineer who produces stamped designs, drives quality, and leads construction administration with minimal supervision. You will develop the work plans and schedules that keep projects on track through permitting and delivery, coordinate closely with in-house disciplines and outside consultants, and guide the engineers coming up behind you.

Make an Impact
  • Serve as a licensed engineer of record on assigned electrical projects. Apply your PE licensure to produce stamped designs, calculations, and technical specifications in Revit and AutoCAD, consistent with Progressive's Performance Based Design standards, across your project portfolio.
  • Deliver complete electrical construction documents across multiple concurrent projects. Develop detailed contract documents, construction documents, and specifications for active small-to-moderate client project at a time, meeting company quality standards and client expectations on each.
  • Own advanced power system analysis and code compliance. Lead load flow, harmonic studies, and protective-device coordination for diverse building types, and run code compliance reviews to NEC, IEC, and other applicable standards for medium-to-high complexity systems.
  • Build project work plans and schedules that hold to permitting and delivery dates. Develop detailed work plans that account for permitting timeframes, and align scope, schedule, and budget so projects are delivered on time, targeting on-time delivery.
  • Lead construction administration with minimal supervision. Manage RFIs, shop drawing submittals and reviews, clarifications, field investigations, and inspections, resolving issues quickly to keep field rework below the office baseline.
  • Coordinate design across in-house disciplines and outside consultants. Organize and lead team meetings, review and verify the work of others for cross-disciplinary alignment on complex projects, and engage clients and governing agencies through reviews to keep every stakeholder informed.
  • Drive quality and consistency across deliverables. Support quality assurance by reviewing calculations, specifications, and junior staff work, and by proactively identifying and resolving documentation inconsistencies before they reach the field.
  • Mentor and develop the engineers coming up behind you. Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and contribute to 'Lessons Learned' sessions, raising the capability of the team as your own scope grows toward Electrical Engineer III.
