Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer II-III to design basic systems under senior guidance. You will perform equipment selections and energy calculations, coordinating with the full design team on a variety of projects in the SF/Sacramento area.

Ideal candidates have REVIT/MEP proficiency, a Bachelor's in EE, and an EIT. Hybrid work pattern includes in-office Mon-Thu and remote Fri, with opportunities for growth in project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accredited Institution.
• 2–7+ years of relevant MEP experience on Aviation, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical projects.
• Latest AutoCAD MEP and REVIT versions required.
• Basic understanding of system selection and applicable codes.
• EIT certification required.
• Experience and interest in Project Management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create basic designs under the direction of senior engineers/designers.
• Perform equipment selections, load/energy and pressure drop calculations.
• Coordinate with disciplines and design team members.
• Assist in RFI processing, change orders, bulletins and addenda.
• Support QA/QC and construction administration tasks on projects.

Job Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer II- III you will be responsible for creating basic designs under the direction of senior engineers and/or senior designers, performing equipment selections, and load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Conducts field inspections to determine existing conditions and to coordinate new work then assists Senior Engineer in preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis and other technical reports and drawings.
• Coordinates with other disciplines and work in close contact with the entire design team
• Creates basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer perform equipment selections, load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes
• Represent Syska Hennessy Group and work in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.)
• Master drawing organization format and company standards
• Assists senior engineer and/or senior designer in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets.
• Assists the senior engineer / senior designer in processing RFI's, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda
• Begins to establish system application, design, and operational parameters / sequences under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
• Creates basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer, develop specifications, system narratives and system layouts for a variety of projects and project sizes.
• Participates in / Ensure / Oversee QA/QC process for your work and the work of others.
• Performs construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspections reports.
• Represents Syska Hennessy Group and works in close contact with and effectively interactwith the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.

Job Requirements

Successful candidates for the Electrical Engineer role should demonstrate strong REVIT, and MEP skills from mark-ups through the production of detailed drawings, and have basic knowledge of construction documentation and design phase requirements. Someone with knowledge of trade specific design and calculation software including energy analysis software (eQuest, Trace, etc.) would be a good fit for this dynamic role.

Additional requirements include:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accredited Institution
• Minimum of 2 to 7+ years of relevant experience in the MEP field working with projects such as Aviation, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical.
• Latest version of AutoCAD MEP and REVIT required
• Basic understanding of proper system selection
• Basic knowledge of applicable codes
• EIT certification required.
• Experience in Mission Critical, Science + Technology, Healthcare and interest in Project Management greatly .

The salary range listed below is for this particular job posting. Actual pay range for candidates will be commensurate with candidate's experience, skillsets and competencies and may differ based on the cost of labor in their particular location.
