Job summary

RENK America is seeking a Transmission Electrical Engineer to lead design of transmission electronics and software for military ground vehicles. You will work from concept to prototype and validation, reporting to the Manager of Transmission Engineering in a cross-functional team.

You'll design electrical systems including FPGA, PCB, harnesses, and controllers; you will help develop hybrid power packs and ensure EMI/EMC compliance while coordinating with program management, test, and supplier

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university with 2–8 years of relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PCB design, and harnesses up to 1000V.
Familiarity with MIL-Standards, IEEE, SAE, and IPC guidance.
Ability to read schematics and create wire harness prints.
Experience with Altium and PCB layout for multi-layer boards.
Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Design electrical systems, FPGA, PCB, harnesses for combat vehicle applications.
Develop and test hybrid power pack components like battery packs and inverters.
Create design specifications including CAD models and schematics using ECPs.
Coordinate with program management, test engineering, analysts, designers and customers.
Prepare design verification test plans and oversee HIL/SIL, bench, dynamometer, and vehicle level testing.
Lead root cause failure analysis investigations.
Analyze requirements for feasibility within time and cost constraints.
Maintain and support production data and supply chain.
